Week 58 (+29) I love trees I really do, I just love imagination in the palm of my hand more.

58

-The number 58 was commonly associated with misfortune in many civilizations native to either Central America or Southern America. Due to their beliefs in the original 58 sins, the number came to symbolize curses and ill-luck. Aztec oracles supposedly stumbled across the number an unnaturally high number of times before disaster fell. One famous recording of this, though largely discredited as mere folktale, concerned the oracle of Moctezuma II, who allegedly counted 58 pieces of gold scattered before a sacrificial pit the day prior to the arrival of Hernan Cortés.

You know you have a love of books when you start piling them up before you even got to the end of the one you are currently reading and that is just the tip of the list (long long list).

As of late many of the books I've been looking into I've found via the "Fantasy Book Critic" blog on Blogger. Very cool site and great reviews.

A prophecy that tells him that the Saxons have stolen a child from the Gods. If Authun, in turn, takes the child and raises him as an heir, the child will lead his people to glory. But Authun discovers not one child, but twin baby boys. Ensuring that his faithful warriors, witnesses to what has happened, die during the raid Authun takes the children and their mother home, back to the witches who live on the troll wall. And he places his destiny in their hands. And so begins a stunning multi-volume fantasy epic that will take a werewolf from his beginnings as the heir to a brutal Viking king, down through the ages. It is a journey that will see him hunt for his lost love through centuries and lives, and see the endless battle between the wolf, Odin and Loki - the eternal trickster - spill over into countless bloody conflicts from our history, and over into our lives. This is the myth of the werewolf as it has never been told before and marks the beginning of an extraordinary new fantasy series from Gollancz." *drools* Sounds like a awesome book! :D

Ugh can't find the post....

Well from what I recall it was thus:

-8-12 books
-3 new bands and 2 new CDs from thus bands
-learn plus size yoga
-go to 1 or was it 2 concerts

...some other stuff that I for the life can't recall and can't find the frakken list grrrrr.

So from what I can recall off the top of my head here is what I done thus far:

-7 books: Dresden Files 1-4, The Sword of Truth 1-3.
LOVE LOVE LUUUUUUV the SoT series! Don't want to really read House of Leaves for the ONTDcreepy book club that I was looking forward to reading after looking it up but, dang the SoT series just has a grab on my imagination and I can't wait to pick up the 4th book "Temple of the Winds" and continue on the adventure with Richard, Kahlan, Zed and the rest. Love both the Dresden Files and the SoT series so I've very glad that I found them!

-Oh wow so many new bands lets see if I can list them?
Just Jack (1 CD)
Grizzly Bear (1 CD)
Daniel Merriweather (1 CD)
Lost on Propose
Gears of the Apparatus (1 CD via mp3s)
Pillar (3 CD)
Swimming With Dolphins (1 CD)
Flogging Molly (took them for a spin 1 CD)
MC Frontalot (1 CD + mp3s)
Jamie's Elsewhere
Keane
Dead by Sunrise

I not sure if this is all of them or if for example Just Jack was just before I set the list of goals. I really thought this was going to be the hardest goal to meet. Odd huh. I have had not really gone outside the mainstream alt-rock much before this other then a song here or there as my fav genre and sound was alt-rock. Don't get me wrong I had a eclectic taste in musci before but it has gotten so much more eclectic this year. (For example Craig always found it surprising that I like MoTab Mormon Tabernacle choir and I don't find it odd at all. It is the hymns that I grew up on and they are beautiful. I always find it interesting to see what kinda of people outside the Mormon faith also enjoy their singing beside us Mormons, even this Jack one XD) When you are lucky to pick up a CD every month or so (2 if you go used like ebay or half.com) then you gotta be careful what you buy and have a good idea if you are going to like the rest of the CD or risk a big stinker where you wished you just bought the one or two songs you liked on iTunes or amazon. So I'm happy that I've stummbled through many way into some songs that sent me digging on the web for more info and free things from the bands to listen to.

Great places to find music and info are as fallows:
-http://www.wikipedia.org/ (info is a plus)
-http://www.aimini.net/ (free songs)
-http://www.youtube.com/ (free listen and song bands link downloads)
-http://www.myspace.com/ (a band's myspace)
-http://www.facebook.com/ (a band's facebook)
-http://bandcamp.com/ (lots of great indie bands here with free/$0.99 songs)
-http://www.google.com/ (try googling for a band site for info, downloads and stores)

And as always shop around for great prices on CDs:
-http://www.half.ebay.com/ (always check the seller's rating and go with the best rating you can)
-iTunes, amazon, etc.
-chain stores; FYE, Bestbuy, barnes and Noble, Amazon, etc.

I really really enjoy music. If you love poetry and writing and the abstract imagery that is wonderful in writing how can you not enjoy music?

-I've always wanted to learn to do yoga and from my searches of the web I knew that there was yoga for almost everyone. After I hunted down a book and got it it was just a matter of stretching into a flabby pretzel. Not a pretty sight but very enjoyable I must say. Do what you want in life and don't let size or other such trivial matters get in your way. Plus size yoga books and DVDs are out there so go try it.

-Went to the Owl City concert that was in Salt Lake just a lil while ago. It was a blast and only the second I've been to. I have ticket's to their next one and I hope that Plain White T's make it back out to Utah like they said that they where going to at the concert last Oct.

I know it looks like I was just being a spendy person but in reality it was just trying to do things that I have not done before and try new bits of life.

So All-in-all I think that my fun, silly goals are coming along nicely.

Today

So today I feel *slightly* better then I do most days. I think the reason is that I (per my meds councilor's permission) upped my amount of the current meds. Not that I feel better/normal in a oh say jumping for joy kinda way but I'll take any lil bit I can get. Maybe it will get even better after I've been at the higher dosage for oh say a week or so. I mean a crazy gurl can always hope, right?

Also I did something I have not done in more then a month and a half. I watched a animated (CGI) film. Most of the time things to unrealistic inflames my damn DP. though this time it pulled me away from dwelling on my DP and into the story and even got me laughing and chuckling. It was "Kung-fo Panda". Really funny and cute. I now want to (and wish I had it here) watch "The Furious Five" spin-off. It looks funny and fun.

I need fun and laughter.

I've been thinking about picking up the book "The Hometown Weekly" by Bruce Lindsay. It kinda like "A Parry Home Companion" on NPR/PRI. Yeah it is mellow but, that is what I'm going for. I mean Hells bells I would love to be able to finish "The Stand" by Stephen King but, from what I gather and what the DP manual says mellow is the way to go to get out from under this cack. I don't want to inflame this stuff since when I do I just have to ride it out as I have found NO way to lessen it when it spikes at all. If anyone does then please tell me I would love to know. Hell any advice on this cack (good, helpful advice) is more then welcome!

One thing that has been getting to me in a major way other then the crushing unreality and fear is the fact that I'm very, VERY tired ALL THE TIME -_-...

I mean WTH!? I do almost nothing most days other then keep my mind busy and thus my butt not moving and yet I still feel like I've stayed up all night and way running errands all day. This sux soooo bad! (though I would trade even more tiredness for any extra relief from this DP/DR crap)

Now I'm bored with most everything and feel way to worn out to read my books (though they are good reads) and thus my mind wanders down that frakked up road in my head and stares at the damned black mass that is DP/DR and ponders on it.

*sigh*

It sux when you look forward every morning to just going back to bed to escape this cack. And even worse my sleep over the last two days has been HORRIBLE! I keep waking up and tossing and turning.

>.> Oh well each day moves me a tad closer to escaping this (I hope).

hmmm

I think I have pissed someone off. I hope I'm wrong.

Picked up the first couple "Fableheaven" books to read. Will most likely be through them in a few days and then be back to square one with nothing to read (and very little to do).

Nothing much other then the last two days have been hard and scary. Made a new play list so I don't have to skip around my music list and flip back and forth between iTunes and firefox/WoW to skip over the less tolerable songs. Its called "Mellow 09".... hope that it doesn't turn into "Mellow 09-10" -_-.

I need more 'PMA' (positive mental attitude) about this but it is harder then hell to do that. I feel like I've been reduced to the mental strength of a 5 year old most of the time. I hate being left alone in the house... so stupid but it scares the shit out of me due to this.

*sigh* I feel like all I can do is whine.

*tries to pull self up by boot straps*

Oh well still get to wait for packages in the mail and that will be fun (just a tad bit of sunshine).

Another book for the list (and a another show to miss...)

So I just saw another ad for what looks like a neat show that alas I will not be able to see right now. It is on Sci-fi channel and I lack the illegal hooks-ups for cable lol.

Anyway the Show is called "Legend of the Seeker" and from the fallowing two youtube vids I think that if you like fantasy (LotRs, HP, Golden Compass etc.) then you might just like this as well.

Trailer:

And 10 min. show preview: Well worth the 10 mins in my POV...

Wow now that I'm hyped and depressed that I can't watch the two hour season premier tomorrow I should let you know that they have the first 30 mins to download off iTunes free lol!

But I guess that I can take salice in the fact that this awesome looking show is based off of books in the "The Sword of Truth" series by Terry Goodkind (11 books in the series ^_^).

*sigh* reminds me that I need to add the cable series of "EarthSea" to netflix (also based on a book XD). From the trailer on Netflix it looks kinda like HP set in the time of Arthur.

Anyone want to get me something for my b-day or Christmas has a few ideas now what I want lol. My free time reading list just keeps on growing and growing ^_^
