Patch Poll 3.0 - Plz vote or comment!
So here I am again looking for some opinions on my patch WIPs and now the placement of the UCI and how you like the text I have chosen or if you have another that you think would work better.
Remember this is suppose to be a Steampunk-ish designed patch. And is suppose to have the feel of an olde (yep old with a 'e' if ya know what I mean) map or parchment or a book.
First up is the idea that sprang from my head and after working up the patch and trying this element out I just today decided that it was not going to work. Its a little bit to modern and doesn't meld well with the patches. I might try to fool around with it more free hand with pencil and try to get it working better with the new font and design. ...but for now it is scrapped pending a re-engineering (with similar format that is).
Am I the only one that feels that the above is similar to what a University emblem would look like? Hmmm.... I think it is. Thus to modern. *le sigh* I really like this idea. Oh well.
On to some examples of the final patches and the wording on them. Remember that the circle ones are going to be a circle patch (just on square 'paper' for ease of working with them). The half circle one will be a rectangle patch.

A simple design which would work well transiting to a patch.

More complex and I just like this one more. Very eye grabbing in my POV. (Yes Craig I know you think that is it to complex but I will try it anyway and see what the company says lol.)
Design three (3) examples:
The half patch or rectangular patch. Kinda fun might be made side project while working with the full ones. I dunno if I will get this done but might in the future but vote on it any way plz.

Now onto the text placement options. I have lines in red shades place on the WIP patches with numbers next to the line. I would like you to give me the patch you like and the number line that you think the text would look good on.

If there is not a line on the place that you think the text looks best then say something like:
...I think it the text would work best and look good next to line 3!

Like last time plz leave comments on your ideas or your rants. All verbiage is going in to see how these are received and in working to improve them more.

UCI Patch poll
So I have these two WIP (works in progress) patches that I've whipped up and after I'm done with them I'm going to have them made for real. (Cool I know ^_^)
And so I just wanted some views and opinions on them and a vote to see what ones you like the best. So please vote!
UCI by the way will be printed over the patches but I have yet to do the last hand drawn part of the patch, as this part was all done by computer manipulation (gimp, paint, picasa... simple programs because I'm a broke as hell artist). UCI by the way stands for "United Celtic Isle". More info below the poll on this.

On another note I have worked up dog tags (military-ish) as well and am just waiting for them to be shipped to me. I'll get pictures of them up when they come.

I painted my hands...
So I just got done cutting and painting threes t-shirts.
I love doing graffiti stencil t-shirts! It is so cool and fun!
These three did not turn out as good as my first three but I still had fun and they turned out good enough to wear IMHO.
I love finding the designs on the web and manipulating them in photoshop/gimp and paint and then printing them out. Cutting them out it not that fun and can go wrong really easy with the exacto knife.
Anyway I might get pics of them up after then dry say around mid-week.

So anyway I have been fascinated by the ingenuity of the people that make Steampunk mods (if you don't know what the Hell I'm talking about google or wiki it!) and just their creativity they put into their gear and drawings! As a person that wants to or would love to work in the conceptional part of the gaming/movie etc business it really peaks my creativity.
Anyway as I was googling Steampunk stuff I came across a whole other sub genre to this area. It is people that mod Nerf guns for either Steampunk or other cons (conventions) and get togethers or just for the fun of it.
One person that does this coined a neat term for it "Nerfsmiths" ^_^
Anyway I thought that I would share some of the Nerf mods that I found on DA just so you can get a look at them.

Yeah I know it is odd and so am I for digging it but hey it is no odder then people paintballing or Airsoft guns.
Speaking of war games with paint and plastic pellets, there are people that have war games with Nerf guns! They call it "Nerf Wars" lol. Well that is a dull name but it gets the point across does it not.
Sounds kinda fun if you ask me!

Beanie feind that I am...
...with a interest in gas mask design (if you really want to know more/why just ask but yeah...) I found this knitted invention an awesome find lol.
Anyway I just thought that it was kinda neat.
The maker's story behind it:
"A friend of mine decided he wanted a knitted gas mask + hat to wear for winter bike trips to work. Of course I offered to do it not really thinking about how I'd actually do it. Months later (after lots of reminding) I finally finished it"
